Parent information leaflet for Summer term 2
Welcome to Rowling class.
Teachers: Mr Plaskitt and Mr Thornton
We really want to work with you to try and do our best for your child. They work hard in school, but a little bit of extra work at home will really help with their understanding. We would really appreciate if you would help them to do the following:
The way to become a good reader is by reading as much as you can! Children should try and read for at least 20 minutes every day. This could include:
- Reading Plus - computer, laptop or tablet,
- Reading their school book to an adult or older sibling,
- Reading any reading book to an adult or older sibling.
Please get your child to fill in their yellow reading book every day.
Children need to practice their times tables every day for at least 10 minutes. They have access to to Times Tables Rockstars on the internet where they can log in and work their way through challenges. The Year 4 children have been given games to play too.
Homework: Given out on Friday and due back in Wednesday. If your child has any issues with their homework please send it in on Monday so we can go through it with them.
Swimming for Year 3 children only - Boys and Girls go separately on a Friday. Please make sure they have their kits in and attend regularly (and take their swimming kit home too!).
PE for Rowling is on Wednesday and the Year 4 children will have PE on Friday too. They must have their PE kits in school at all times. No earrings to be worn on PE days.
Please make sure your child leaves all jewellery at home.
If you have any concerns regarding your child, please feel free to come and see me before or after school.
