Regular attendance at school is a Legal requirement. Greenfield Primary School is committed to promoting good attendance and work with the Education Welfare Service. Please ensure you do all you can to give your child the opportunity to succeed by getting them to school every day and on time - school starts at 9am.
If they are off sick, you must telephone school before 9.30am and please try and make appointments outside of the school day if possible. If you need to take your child to an appointment, please show the appointment letter to the office so that a copy can be kept on file.
Minor illnesses such as headaches, coughs, colds, tummy aches etc are not usually acceptable reasons for absence and may not be authorised by school.
The School's attendance target is 97% - updates on our current attendance figures are notified to parents regularly in Newsletters and on the website front page. Certificates are awarded to children who achieve 100% attendance in a term and every week the class with the best attendance receives a voucher which can be spent at the end of the year on a reward for the class.
