This half term we will be studying the text "What Mr Darwin Saw" by Mick Manning. During this time we will be writing our own letters, biographies and diary extracts.
Unit 1- Fractions, decimals and percentages and multiplying and dividing numbers by 10, 100 and 1000.
Unit 2- Multiplication and division, prime and composite numbers and factors and multiples.
English - This half term we will be studying the books: Maps of the United Kingdom by Rachel Dixon and Livi Gosling and Lots by Marc Martin. We will use these non fiction books to develop our persuasive writing skills.
Maths - In basic we will continue to develop our basic arithmetic skills through our Starter for Ten activities as well as developing our understanding of prime and composite numbers; square and cubed numbers. We will also develop our knowledge of angles, shapes and rotation and translation.
We are going to be young entrepreneurs!
In English we will create our own business plans using non chronological writing to create and make our own products to sell.
In maths we will develop our understanding of place values, addition and subtraction as well as our understanding of how to work out area.
