Our Arts Vision:
At Greenfield Primary School we provide a creative education that is inclusive and accessible to all the children in our school. The teaching and learning of the arts is important as it stimulates creativity, imagination and inventiveness. We believe that the arts are a fundamental part of the curriculum, and define the arts as including music, dance, drama, art, craft, design and creative literature. Dance, music and art lessons are delivered discretely and are linked to curriculum topics. We offer the children a range of activities that help them to explore, express and communicate their feelings whilst gaining experiences of the wider world. We ensure that all activities can be accessed by all pupils. Our school is striving to be both autistic and dyslexic friendly and see this as being a strong point within our arts activities and lessons. Throughout the school year we are committed to working with artists and arts organisations to generate engaging and challenging learning experiences in the arts and across the curriculum. We invite the artists into school, once we have planned the topics, in order to enrich the curriculum. The arts are very much loved within Greenfield and are evident throughout the school environment. We offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities that give the opportunities for the children to follow their interests and develop their skills, nurturing the talents that our children possess. As a school we value diversity and the celebration of all faiths and cultures, working closely in partnership with all members of the community to develop an ongoing mutual respect. To involve the community, children from each class are involved in a variety of celebrations each term in order to share their successes. This is a great celebration of the children's arts work related to the topic they are studying. Parents are also invites to participate with workshops that enable parent and child to create alongside one another.
